Community Snapshot: Indialantic

Feel the cool sea breeze kick in as you head east across the Melbourne Causeway to the quaint town of Indialantic. Officially known as “Indialantic by the Sea”, this modest, primarily residential beach town is located on the barrier island separating the Indian River Lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean. Wake up to dazzling sunrises over the Atlantic from your oceanfront home or condo situated on Florida’s scenic Highway A1A. Draw your day to a close with a painted sunset sky from the lanai of your riverfront home nestled along Riverside Drive. There is something for everyone in this diverse community! Retirees, professionals, young couples with children, students and artists have chosen Indialantic as their home.

Fifth Avenue and A1A are home to a highly successful business district and the town’s beachside shopping and restaurant choices will not disappoint. From a delightful breakfast to fine dining, this charming seaside town has it covered. The Beachside Café, Starbucks, City Tropics Bistro, Villa Palma Ristorante, Petrillo’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, Skewers Mediterranean Grille, Islands Fish Grill, Long Doggers and Scotts on Fifth are all close to or within walking distance to Boardwalk Beach and oceanfront James Nance Park. In the mood for a picnic, pick up a prepared seafood meal from Indialantic Seafood Company and head to the beach or take a leisurely stroll along the Boardwalk. The relaxed atmosphere is undeniable.

Forgot your beach chair? Need rent or buy a surfboard, longboard or SUP? Beachgoers and surfers can find the latest stylish beachwear, surf and skate gear and SUP’s at the famous Longboard House on 5th Ave across from the Boardwalk or the Paddleboard House on South Miramar (A1A).

During the months of May through October, sea turtles nest along the Brevard County Coastline. June and July being the peak months, leatherbacks, loggerheads, green turtles and Kemps Ridley sea turtles all find their way through the deep ocean to our beaches. The Sea Turtle Preservation Society invites you to experience these beautiful creatures on guided turtle walks.

The bed and breakfast at Windemere Inn by the Sea, vacation rentals and lodging at the Tuckaway Shores Oceanfront Suites are available for a quick getaway or for friends and family to vacation. Boating, fishing, swimming, personal watercrafts, kayaking and surfing are just a few of the favorite local pastimes. There’s no doubt you are sure to find the natural paradise of Indialantic as being the desirable time-honored Florida lifestyle you are looking for.
